Most store-bought salsa just doesn't have the fresh taste I like. That is absolutely not the case with Casa De Jorge--they are bursting with fresh flavor. The tomatoes are particularly flavorful, which is the downfall of most store-bought salsas--they usually taste like tomato paste to me.
The salsa I'm particularly writing about here is the Ghost Chile salsa. It was my first experience with the Bhut Jolokia pepper and is certainly hot (more than any Habanero salsa I've had), but the flavor is so good it doesn't matter. Don't eat a whole spoonful at once, just enjoy the intriguing flavor and intensity in small amounts.
I tried the "Stupid Hot" salsa and it is aptly named. I couldn't even tell if it had any flavor, but it certainly hurts and seems to exist for macho posturing or for use as a weapon.
The Ghost Chile Salsa, though, is the best naturally hot salsa I've ever eaten. It tastes so good I can't stop eating it no matter how much it hurts.
